What does double breasted mean?
You know how a regular, single-breasted suit jacket buttons up down the centre, not a lot of overlap going on, lapels of equal size? Doubles don’t do that. In double-breasted jackets, the fabric overlaps and buttons up a little off centre, creating a closer wrap and slightly off-kilter lapels that give the jacket its signature silhouette, slightly cinched in at the waist and with a bit more button for your buck.
