We’ve teamed up with Brighton-based artist and illustrator, Sophy Hollington.
Not being one to cut corners, her work takes the form of relief prints, created using the lengthy process of lino-cutting. Her personal work tackles themes from meteoric folklore to alchemical symbolism and she’s interested in wrangling the most out-there ideas to make them totally tangible
The collaboration takes on the cautionary tales of Struwwelpeter. Classic cautionary tales feel like a prevalent theme after this past year. Der Struwwelpeter is an 1845 German children’s book by Henrich Hoffman. It comprises ten illustrated and rhymed stories, mostly about children. Each has a clear moral that demonstrates the disastrous consequences of misbehaviour in an exaggerated way. The title of the first story provided the title of the whole book.
Sophy has produced a hand carved linocut, which will then be embroidered and screen printed on our 220 gram cotton jersey. All produced in London. Discover the collection below
