The Sherlock is one of those coats that makes bad weather feel like a character-building exercise rather than a personal attack. Clean, classic, quietly technical - cut in black with a Watcher Check lining for a little bit of Percival mischief where it counts.

Waterproof, breathable and built in our bestselling Sherlock shape, this is the trench coat for commutes, country weekends, city drizzles and all the in-between bits British weather loves to throw in.

Style it with a mohair jumper or checked shirt from our Autumn Winter collection and finish with relaxed trousers for the full Perci effect.

Men's Black Waterproof Short Trench Coat with Watcher Check

  • Features: Men's short trench coat in black made from a 10,000mm waterproof technical fabric with 2000g/sqm breathability. Constructed with taped seams and bonded PU lining for added protection against wet weather. Cut in a shorter length with a clean button front, contrast corduroy-style collar and slanted welt pockets, offering a more compact alternative to a traditional long trench coat. Finished with a Watcher Check lining for a distinct Percival detail. A lightweight waterproof black trench coat built for everyday autumn and winter wear, with the weather protection of a full-length mac without the extra length or bulk.
  • Material: 65% Polyester PU, 35% Cotton (Cotton-bonded fabric)
  • Colour: Black with Watcher Check lining
  • Fit: Relaxed fit through the chest and torso for easy layering. If you prefer a closer fit, consider sizing down. Sleeves cut slightly shorter for a contemporary look.

The Technical Details

Waterproof rating: 10,000mm. Translation? Very waterproof. A fabric is tested by how much water pressure it can withstand before leaking, British standards require just 1,500mm. Our trench hits 10,000mm, double what’s recommended for a snowboard jacket.

Add fully taped seams and a breathability rating of 2,000g/m² (that’s water vapour escaping out, not in), and you’ve got a coat built to keep you cool, dry and smug through the wettest months. Ready for rain, drizzle, and the occasional biblical downpour.
